Is it legal to distribute Dolby Digital/DTS demos?

I finally ordered myself a DVD burner, & one of the first projects I intend to do is a compilation of all the DD/DTS demos I can find.

Once I have compiled & burned this, would it be illegal to distribute them? After all, most people probably have enough DVD's to have an original copy of each.

I would have loved for someone to burn me a demo disc before I had a DVD burner, now that I will have a burner I would like to be able to provide that for other people... But I don't want to cause myself any undue trouble.

Either or, considering the cost of DVD media I would prefer to get a nominal amount for the cost of media.

if you are reselling someone else's product than I would guess it is not legal.

And anyone demoing in a proffessional place would most likely want to use legit material to avoid lawsuits. We have to be very careful with what we use to demo products.

If I was Dolby Labs or DTS I don't think I'd complain one bit if people were buying and selling my advertising, just so as long as as many people saw them as possible. In this case, you are doing them a favor.

Besides, there are discs like this all over E-bay, and people trade them on HT forums.

Dolby and DTS never expected their ads to be a source of revenue in and of themselves, and freely give them away.

The problem is most of the discs I've seen were actually produced by the companies in question - Not ripped from DVD's & then burned.

They seem to be somewhat scarce (and expensive), which is why I want to do something else.
