Is it legal for me to sell this? Encoded TV programs on CD...

Since this place is loaded with intelligent people i though id ask...

I have tons of episodes for a certain TV show compressed to .wmv that I use for watching on the iPAQ when i travel. I had a few requests for the CD (80+ episodes) so i figure id sell them for $5 a pop. $1 for the CD, $2 shipping, and the $2 bonus to feed the monkey. But i dont want to do anything illegal so i thought id ask you guys.

(For those non PPC users out there who are wondering about my intentions. A PocketPC can play movies so i have these 22 min episodes compressed to 7-10MB that I put on my iPAQ to watch when I travel or whatever. My 48MB CF card holds 6 episodes (2hrs)so its very cool and much funner than solitaire.)

Yow. Okay, well im not selling then. Too bad too cause it takes forever to encode it. Well heres a freebee for anyone. Its optimized for the ipaq (320x240 screen) so the quality is terrible on a monitor...

Ive given away a few to friends and they paid (shipping/blank CD)through paypal but it was at no profit. Is there anything illegal about that? Is it actually legal to give it away or is it something where you just arent allowed to distribute? Eb@y has tons of stuff you can get on VHS like old MST3k episodes that arent aired anymore.

Go to windows media tools and services. Damn microsoft for creating yet another proprietary format but wmv and wma do a hell of a job compressing mp3's or video. The thing works at a bit faster than realtime (converting 20min 80MB .mov episode to a 7MB .wmv) so there was alot of work to make my collection.
