Is it known for sure if Palominos will work with existing motherboards?

That is, for the desktop version to be released next quarter.. will it work with the current crop of Socket A boards?

i believe and this is speculation that it will work in some current socket a boards.

My question is: In the amd roadmap they show a palomino 1.3 at 200fsb does that mean it could work on a kt133 board? And if the mobo autdetects voltage like my biostar could it theoretically detect the lower voltage of the palo? Is it going to be like 1.4v or something?

I ask cause my board supports 1.3 200fsb tbirds and I would love to get one more upgrade out of this bad boy...

I am sure they will. I just flashed my KK266-R bios to the 0515 and it have voltage settings around 1.1v 🙂

I agree by the sounds of what i have read, not only will the palo work with exsisting boards, but apparently so will the next generation. Thats just what i have read.

From what I understand, the Athlon 4-1.3g/100fsb is a laptop version. Desktop will debut at 1533mhz.

And it will only work on 133fsb motherboards, that are able to run the lower voltage.

yes for sure but your mobo had to adhere to the amd regulations also it will make socket a its platform even till the barron or what ever its called
