Is it just my area or is there a shortage of Playstation 2?

Can't seem to find a PS2 @ Target, walmart, best buy, or ebgames in my city? Whats going on? This is in southern california near LA.

Thats weird, they had a bunch of them at PlanetX (ebgames) for $119 after rebate. Try FRYs... I'm in LA though.

The best buy I went to here in Sacramento didn't have any. But that's just one place. I didn't check too many stores since i'm still wavering between ps2/xbox

Rumor has it that Sony is getting prepared to introduce the PStwo. Similar to the PSone, it will be redesigned with a smaller shell and a few other small changes to the hardware and such (nothing major at all). Just a rumor, though.

Supposedly both PS2s and Xboxes are constrained until November. I haven't seen any shortages at my store yet, but we're expecting them.

I was just at Costco and saw about 50 of each... I was thinking about getting one or the other but couldn't make up my mind...

My parents got me an Xbox a few weeks ago for my birthday and my mom said she had a really hard time finding the Xbox. She said she never checked Best Buy but she ended up getting the last one that Gamestop had. Anyone know why the numbers are constrained?

Read somewhere sony is slowing down supply of PS2s... possibly for PSTwo (second part not confirmed).
