Is it just me (probably is) or are the democratic candidates getting way more exposure than the republican ones?

All I've been hearing in the news the past several months is hilary vs obama like as if the race came down to these two. Where's rudy in the news (other than that facebook thing)? McCain, etc?

seems like the dems are getting some overexposure or is there some waiting period before the news shifts over to the republicans? i'm not the most knowledgeable person when it comes to politics and elections so i'm rather curious.

btw i'm not really favoring either side at the moment

Good question, I've noticed the same. All I can think of so far is that the Democrats have two "star" candidates that make good press. Possibly the reason that Giuliani or McCain aren't getting the same star treatment is because they're purposely zipping their lips?

I think there is a major assumption that a democrat will take office next as people are not pleased with bush and co, hence the most coverage for democrat.

Even though a lot of the GOP candidates are distancing themselves from Bush and making it clear that they would not have the same policies? I have noticed that the democrat side of the race has been getting more attention as well. It doesnt bother me at all, as I like politics so I enjoy hearing about the candidates....just something that I have noticed too.

This sounds reasonable, but I don't think Obama or Clinton have a chance of winning. A nation that votes for Bush two times in a row isn't a nation that's all of a sudden going to put a minority or a woman in office.

The real question is, who's going to "Dan Rather" the Republicans this time around?

The last debate sure didn't get much press that's for sure. The Republicans are running a dead horse campaign, and the last Republican debate I doubt many even saw it, unless you youtube it. Their so called "top tier" candidates are unappealing, and the funny thing is Giuliani is more of a socialist than Hillary...the biggest joke (R) candidate of them all.

Ron Paul is the only monkey wrench in their way, so I expect some smear tactics in the future.

lol @ the thread, good responses.

They probably do get more exposure lately because people are less pissed off at Democraps than Replitards.

From what i've read, the base isn't all too excited with the GOP frontrunners. You have Romney (the GOP's version of flip flopping Kerry, plus he's Mormon), Giuliani (pro-choie/anti-gun/multiple infidelities/cross dresser/not exactly the religoius type), and McCain (former "liberal media darling"/really screwed up with the base with his support for the Amnesty immigration bill). The only thing they really have is their commitment to torture/the Iraq War, etc.

With candidates like the current GOP crop, I am kind of hoping they'll get more exposure. :D

Its that "liburel medjia beeass." The repugs are weak and it shows because of president shit for brains, the networks dont cover strong stories about repugs, therefore, the liberal media is biased. Would the OPie prefer to see stories about how weak the repugs are?

Knee jerk much? I think the OP was just curious, it is a good question. I don't know why people even respond to the retarded "Repugs", "Repukes", "Defeatocrats", "Dimocrat" posts, even though I'm doing it....

Anyways, I think it has to do with the fact that there is a ton of contraversy and drama between Hillary and Obama, not really anything to do with the crappy Republican candidates.

I'll agree with that, except for the whole dumbass torture remark. But yea, I don't think real conservatives are too thrilled with the GOPs frontrunners, I know I'm not.

That's because the only republican who's not a total dumbass is Ron Paul, and he scares everybody on both sides.

Ask Dodd, Biden, and even Edwards if they see it as a Democrat-Republican thing.

It's a personality thing; Hillary has had her name batted around as a presidential candidate for at least seven years and has been idolized by some and vilified by others for just as long.

Obama is just a hope-mongerer...which is something a lot of people seem to want..and that big number of people is part of the story in itself

To a certain extent I think its partly a republican plot. They hope to keep democratic candidates in the news so we become acquainted with every blemish and wart they have.
While Republican hide their candidates under bushel baskets so we can't see their flaws as clearly.

Umm the first female with a chance to win her parties nomination and the first black man with a chance to win his parties nomination? I think that explains everything?
