Is it just me or is the 3007WFP dropping in price

The sub $1400 price is without a dead pixel guarantee. If you pay for no dead pixels, shipping, taxes, it's more like $1600. Also since it only has a single DVI connector, you'll need a dual link DVI KVM to use more than one computer with it: $400 - $800. Only one company makes dual link DVI KVMs and they're made in U know where, which makes them ever so dear. The 4 port KVMs were $600 in June. Now they're $800. So the real price of a 3007wfp is at least $2200.

Finally, you can't view the 3007wfp in any stores, so you're spending $2200 on something without ever seeing it.

It's $2500 in the UK too. It'd be cheaper for me to buy from the US, pay for shipping and import tax than buy over here. :|

Another way of looking at it is its cheaper to get a cheap economy ticket to the us, stay in a hotel a night, have the monitor delivered to the hotel and then come back.

I do realise that the VAT in the UK adds a fair old amount, but I do think Dell is taking the UK consumer for a ride, the same applies to the 20" and 24" displays as well.

I like that idea too, but there is a limit on how much you're allowed to bring back VAT free, the monitor would be well over it. 🙁

of course, not everyone really NEEDS to hook up more than one PC to their monitor...

but you are right, i would be skeptical of spending thousands of dollars on an item that i have never seen in person, although it is possible to see the 30" apple and that display is very impressive (and I believe they actually use the same panel, no?)
