Is it just me or has the Camaro gotten uglier?

The latest 2016 model year looks worse than ever... the led headlights, the grill treatment, those ridiculous hood scoops, and the rear end just looks plain.

You're right the previous model looks much better, especially the interior...

Oops wrong interior... but it looks so similar for some reason. Seems like some of the 90's interior designers are still alive at gm.

Not a fan of it either. Would rather have the Mustang GT.
Yup yup.

As a 2015 Mustang GT owner, yes it's ugly and the visibility sucks (sat in one). I haven't driven the new Camaro, but tests indicate it whoops the Mustang GT. I'll give it a shot one of these days.

I'm just not a fan of the newest Mustang look. The rear I think is ugly. The new Camaro looks pretty good.

To me for Pony Cars just looks wise it goes:

1. Challenger
2. Camaro
3. Mustang

I loved the older look of Camero but Mustang and Challenger comes first for me!

The visibility in the Camaros is so bad that when I went to test-drive one last year, I didn't even bother taking it off the lot (which is a pity because they had really good deals going on!). The '15+ Mustangs are amazing in terms of usability compared to the Camaros...relatively great visibility, comfortable, very nice ride with the new IRS system, etc.

Just you and your old man ways. I think it looks 10x better now than it did 5-10 yrs ago. Same with the mustang, and basically all other cars except for a few.

5 years ago it looked almost exactly like the 2014 model. 10 years ago it existed only in concept form but looked very much like the 2010 production model. Between 2002 and 2010 there was no Camaro.

In 2002, the last year of the 4th gen, it looked like a jellybean.

The proportions are all off, too much body not enough glass. Looks like it's squinting... However out of the three (Mustang, Camaro, Challenger) it is the best performing.

It looks similar, sure, but those dumb corvette-like box rear lights are gone, and those angel eye front headlights are also donezo, which were tacky. The grill in the front is now larger and more aggressive, and the use of LED lighting makes it look sharper.

And of course 5 years ago it looks liked the 2014 model, they are the same model generation (5th gen).

Whatever they did with the headlights makes the front end of the car feel a lot bigger.

I think the earlier 5th gen Camaros looked a lot cleaner. This refresh looks too busy and there is too much black plastic on the front end... makes it look cheap.

I think 2016 looks better. Not a huge fan overall of the look in either case, but pretty fantastic car.

A lotttttttttttt of people said the exact same thing with the release of the C7 'vette. In fact, I was one of them. But after seeing many on the road, plus lots of photos over the past year or so, I'm now a believe in the new design. I think the "busy" looks will grow on most people. Roundness in design is very early 2000's, and sharp lines are now in. Everybody is doing new car design this way now.

Oh, I love the new Corvette. I thought it was a winner the moment I first saw it.

This car? Not so much.

At this point, I think the C7 might be the best looking sports car ever created. Seeing it on the road, especially a Z is just incredible. There's lots of lux sport cars around here, even the occasional lambo, and they just don't excite me the same way.

With that said, I did see a new fully loaded SS the other day drive by. It still looks pretty mean, it was all blacked out.

While the Camaro SS outperforms the new Mustang GT, the Mustang is cheaper and takes to mods incredibly well.

I saw one on its roof not too long ago on my drive in to work. My guess is someone turned off the TC and had a go at the throttle. As far as he was off the roadway and the fact that it was a single vehicle accident led me to that conclusion. Amazingly, he missed all the trees.

I have a friend who lives in Newport Coast. Land of the Ferrari and Lamborghini. I go to visit him and it would be astonishing if I didn't see at least 6-7 exotic cars. Common cars are the G-wagon and S-Class (AMG versions of course). His neighbor owns a Maserati, another one has a 458 Italia. My friend drives a new Hyundai Genesis sedan... he doesn't give a crap about cars and will probably get another Lexus RX350 when his lease is up on the Hyundai. His wife is the car nut. She's been eying the BMW i8 or possibly a Porsche GT3. Whatever one she gets I'm sure he'll let me drive it. :D

She was mildly interested in the Corvette when it first came out but they wouldn't let her drive one. Said she has to make a commitment to buy the car if they let her drive it. They said, "Um no. How about you let us drive it and if we like it we'll make you an offer." They pulled on the lot in a 1 year old BMW 650i Convertible, a car that cost $100k new (that was her second 650i in 4 years, the first was a coupe). Way to make a sale guys...

The problem with the Corvette is they only sell them at Chevy dealerships.

Pretty tempting to do honestly. Did burn outs and doughnuts in my buddies new mustang GT earlier this year. Way too easy to lose the ass on that thing. Even my old 350hp gene coupe could swing her booty around a bit just driving around casually.

Wait... so... a dealership wouldn't let her test a car because she wouldn't buy it before driving..? Wot? lol

Honestly, it's really hard to not want one. What's the new trim... I forget the name, but it's basically all Z parts with out the engine, for only about $5k more MSRP. So <$65k for what's essentially a Z06 minus the almost unnecessary HP? Yes plz.
