Is it just me or does it seem like the Middle Class is Dying?

I know this is a rant. But as of late I swear I see the divide between the rich and the poor is huge. I am so sick of seeing reports of CEO's getting a Christmas bonus of 53million. I work hard all year round and the goverenment is taxing the fscking crap out of me. The rich just setup companies and play the crooked good ole boy game. I just feel like the American concept of the Middle Class is dying at a crazy pace.

Why does someone else making money offend you? Those CEO's are doing exactly what they are paid to do, make money for their customers.

Reports by the census bureau indicate that the gap between the super rich and the well-off is increasing every year.

This doesn't bother me though, and it shouldn't bother you either, since you and I are well off. I can afford an okay apartment with an okay TV and a nice computer. I can afford to eat well. I can afford to do what I want to do for work. That's enough for me. I can't buy a yacht, so what?

I beg to differ almost all of the familes I know and including mine are making close to the same wages as in the late 80s to early 90s with a huge inflation costs to carry.

So I dont agree the Middle Class is in trouble.

Also in DC many areas are going thru huge amounts of Gentrification. Middle Class housing complexes are being converted into 7 and 8 hundred thousand dollar condos. Right now DC is desperate need of Firemen and they cant hire them because on their salaries they cant afford HOUSING@!

I see this as the correct response. I think we do feel the greed of corporate execs in the 80s, and certainly lower class is maintaining but not thriving. Money has to come from somewhere, middle management's the target. I don't make near what my father did, but my sister (exec VP of a large company) makes 10X what he did.
