Really? I find that when I go into high rises, I get better reception as I go up.

No problems with Verizon, except

Voicemail doesn't have a time/date stamp? Or is it just me?

It does. After you hear a message it prompts you to press '0' for more options. One option is to replay the message and the other gives you the date and time.

I agree that transferring contacts like that is a pain but I've been with Sprint for years and never really had a problem with the service or customer service. Sure there has been times they made me irate but they immediately fixed it.

Press 5 after listening to a message. At least that's how my Verizon voice mail works.

Ah--Thanks! I guess that's supposed to be a money-saving feature since Verizon bills you to check voice mail :|

(My previous carrier, NXTL, did not charge for checking VM)

I have GSM and I don't really mind the switching contacts thing. I just put the phones side-by-side and copy.

Why on earth would you do that when you can just copy them from the SIM?

Because I usually enter more stuff than just phone number and name, which is all that the SIM stores.

LOL, you have 9K+ votes on a computer forum yet you can't figure out how to connect a usb cable to your computer and transfer contacts that way?

Anyways, I  Verizon, everything else is sub-par.

Back when I used them, such things didn't exist. And it's still of a hell of a lot harder than pop sim card out, pop sim card in, press copy.

But its the connection fee that I really care about...I switch my phone too often to have to actually be bothered to keep on calling up CSRs...hell right now, I have a giant ass treo for school/work/day, and a small nokia for night...can't do that with CDMA/TDMA.

Another fun thing - sign up for a 1 year contract, get a $250 dollar phone free. Sell phone on ebay/FSFT. Use new sim in old phone from other carrier. Free service for a few months.

How are you getting a phone free? You'll be paying for the service.

I guess that works if you are satisfied with a really old phone.

Eh, nowadays the only difference between this year's phone and last year's phone is that the new one is 15% thinner than the old one, and has a camera that is 25% sharper than the old one, while at the same time still retaining the admirable quality of being completely useless in anything but a sunlit scene with your arm held still by a vice grip.
