Yes, but I thought maybe they were just illegal to buy, posession being a different issue.

there's some rule about not being able to bring back more than 22 or something. basically you can't bring back a whole, unopened box.

no. the only "illegal" thing about cuban cigars is the US ban on cuban goods. It goes back to the stupid soviet and communist cold war with America. So anything from suba is illegal to bring here. But if you buy them in canada and bring them over, it should be fine. Just as long as you have proof of your purchase in canada (receipt) and you can wave it in a cop's face

just take the wrappers off and no one will ever know.

thats what we did from the bahammas.

Its no big deal.
You arent supposed to be able to take them.
I took the labels off, and put them in my carry on.
This was comming home from Mexico though.

hmm thought you were allowed some fpr personal use? while i was in Canada i had some. i really was not all impressed.
