it wont work. the post office sometimes will use a carbon-petrol-phosphorous-tetrachloride aquaeous ink that is visibile only under light emission of 3400k wavelength.

no, i dont work for the USPS but i did sleep at a holiday inn last night
Try to make it a little more convincing...

just set the to address and teh return address as the same thing. put no postage on it and it will get to where you want it with a message saying postage due

🙂

hehe, some of my friends used to do that, and it actually worked. Or you can just put used stamps on there, that will make it less obvious

haha, thats messed...

I didn't have a stamp to mail my CC bill so I took one off an envelope in my room and used that. SOOOO

If the only Law you obey is that of the state, you have serious issues.
I obey the laws of no state! (*Is not american*)

Quoted from: http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=state
9. A specific mode of government: the socialist state.
10. A body politic, especially one constituting a nation: the states of Eastern Europe.

You don't have to be in a state of a union to be in a state. I wasn't talking about the American definition of the word. When people talk about "church-state" separation, for example, it has nothing to do with the 50 "states."

if i glue a penny to the floor, you'd try to lift it out for the next hour at least right?

I was in a science fair in the local mall here once, and I had two quarters glued to the floor just for entertainment while waiting for the judges.

It was definitely worth 50 cents.

It all depends on morality, yours specifically. If you want to and don't care, go for it. If you fear the post office finding out and machine gunning your home, and decide not to, that's okay, too.

Who cares if it's illegal? If the only Law you obey is that of the state, you have serious issues.

Stamps insure that you pay for services rendered. Reusing stamps just because they didn't keep a check on you is just as bad as making counterfeit stamps. Any attempt to circumvent measures in place to keep you from getting something for nothing is STEALING.

Wow we have a regular John Calvin in our midst.
Although I am a devout Catholic, I wonder if being compared to such a spiritual man is entirely a bad thing.

An optical scanner will read if there's a cancellation mark on the stamp. I occasionally get some mail that has stamps not having been cancelled -- I reuse them by putting a bit of glue underneath. Do not tape over the stamp, as the scanner will automatically reject it, even if it's a new stamp.

The more stupid crap people pull with the postal system, the more contribution they're making to rate increase.

I tried it once.had to reglue it because the orig glue was ruined removing the stamp.the letter was returned to me with a message saying it was rejected for using a different glue than the original glue on the stamp :brokenheart:

theres a chemical in stamps that the machine detects, it gets flashed with some type of light/radiation that alters it, thus it cant be re-used. But not all post offices have this, so it IS possible to get away with reusing a stamp.

But IMO, its stealing from a federal organization, also the worlds largest employer after the US military, which is sturggling to make ends meet right now with competition from UPS, Fed-Ex, and email, the last thing this economy needs is for its biggest employer to get any weaker and have to start laying people off (they are pretty darn close to doing so now)
