I ate horse steak in Australia... the meat is tough... cow is much better
sure they do
I thought that one was shut down. I guess not.
Just another reason why I love living in Texas.
EDIT: Just checked, and it is indeed ILLEGAL to consume horse meat in Texas, but it is perfectly legal to slaughter horses for shipment overseas.
not all horses are considered domesticated.
This site has some facts on horse consumption and slaughter. But they are also activists, so their facts get muddled with conjecture.
Oh, and interestinly France is a leading consumer of horse meat.
Love the hot dog argument. It makes perfect sense. Why WOULDN'T oscar meyer ship in horses and kill them just to use a small percentage of their meat in their non-kosher non-all-beef variety of hot dog? They'd be stupid not to. Especially since it would be illegal, since hot dogs may be made only from beef, pork, turkey, or chicken.
You can make tasty sausages from a horse. They breed them for consumtion at some farms.
I have no idea why someone would oppose eating horses...
That's interesting... "kill it, chop it up, grind it up... but DON'T eat it here!"
