Is it illegal if you smoke weed in the United States? yes its illegal, but are you consider to have done something illegal if you smoked weed in a european country that they consider weed legal?

Same question for other Illegal things that are not in other countries.

Think about it this way: gambling is illegal in most states. Gambling is legal in Las Vegas. Lets suppose you lived in a state where gambling is illegal. If you go to Las Vegas, gamble, and then return home, did you break the law? Will you be arrested upon leaving Nevada? Of course not. The same thing applies to your post.

The laws you have to follow are the laws in the country that you are in. IE its not illegal to goto Canada and drink when you are 19. Unless you are a Diplomat then you can pretty much do a line of Cocaine off a dead hookers body in front of the police and get away with it. At least in the US it seems.

by the way i never have smoked weed but that was the best explanation for my topic.

Amsterdam i believe is legal to smoke weed, so if you go there and smoke and come back to U.S and a goverment job ask you if you ever have done anything illegal such as smoking weed. do you say Yes i have but it was not illegal i was in another country.

how do you handle that and do they say oh ok i guess you didnt do anything illegal inside our country.

I think if you smoked in another country the US government wouldn't care. However, I don't think that excuse would work with a perspective employer.

Nothing asks you if you have done something illegal. Everyone has done something that is illegal. When it comes to drugs they will ask if you have a history of using illegal drugs, and what drugs did you use. So if you are wanting to get clearance then you don't want to be smoking weed in Europe. While it is legal, the idea is not legality, but that of substance abuse.

I hope you aren't going into any type of security function. It appears someone could wave a bag of weed and a hooker at you and you'd photograph every document in Langley.

I thought they could only be expelled for spying or very serious felonies. Are they most often recalled after a situation like that by their own country?
