I found the NB easy to get off & apply AS5 to.

I found the SB one impossible, & gave up, since i didn't wanna wreck things.

whats the real need to do anything to the SB?

My NB even at 466fsb is warm at best since I have a fan pointing at it.....

Its hard to get off, but you can not really damage the core becuase it is covered with a pretty solid IHS. Is it really necessary becomes the question. Possibly it is if you are going really high with the FSB. As for the northbridge, on my P5B @ 500 fsb it got extremely hot, so I changed and put a dedicated chipset cooler with fan. I touched the heatpipe and burnt my figure which is always a good sign of how hot something is.
