Is it hard to mount a case fan?

I just recently ordered my new PC (thanks to the advice of all of you :) ) but I forgot to add a case fan other than the small one already mounted in the case. I was looking at a Panaflo 120mm. I was never intending to assemble it myself, so now when it's built, I'll have to add a fan myself.

So I'm wondering if it's easy to mount the Panaflo 120mm fan...Any cautions I should worry about? Thanks guys.

depends where you want to put it. if it's an exhaust, it should be pretty straightforward, check the arrows on the top of the fan, which describes the airflow and rotation. then mount with the airflow pointing out to the back.

as for intake, it can be tricky, depending on your case. If your case is like mine, you will have to remove the front bezel. This is annoying and you will need to be careful to use a lot of force, but not too much.

I think panaflos dont use standard connectors for power, so make sure you get the correct adapter for it

If it helps any, the case is a "Antec SLK3000B Black Super Mid Tower". As for of the fan is an exhaust or an intake, I have literally, no idea. Where do they generally go... *confused* Why did I forget this!

Exhaust would be in the back of the case, intake in the front. According to Antec.com your case will have 1 exhaust (120mm, not a 'small one') and supports an optional 120mm intake. From looking at the pictures it looks like the 3.5" cage may be easily removeable, in which case you'd probably be able to mount the fan without having to take off the front bezel. No garauntees, though. If you do, as posted above, you have to find the sweet spot of enough force without too much force. I hate pulling those things off.

The HDD Cage is easily removable. Undo the screw, pull down on the tab and ease the cage out of its holding.

Remove the front bezel. Pop in the panaflo.... for me and my SLK3000B and 120mm panaflo, it was a simple case of screwing the fan in place. Be aware, I believe earlier versions of the SLK3000B did NOT have pre-drilled 120mm fan holes in them.

Oh. So do you guys think just that fan alone should be okay for my PC? I'm not planning to do a lot of overclocking right away and I'd like for my PC to be as quiet as possible. When people refer to "stock cooling", is this what they mean? Just the standard fans that come with the case? If so, I should be okay, no?

If not, I'll happily take your guys' advice on mounting :) .

no you'll be better off adding the front 120 as well. its really easy as stated above.

pop off the front bezel and screw the 120mm on. it makes a nice improvement.
