Is it hard to install a car cd player?

In a 90 Camry? 😀

Also, do all cd players work on all cars? Cuz I'll liketo buy a cheap one off ebay for like $40..

Yep, you just need a wireing harness 🙂 I did my own in my Maxima, it took me about 3 hours. Once I had access to the wires, I just color matched the wires on the harness with my car's wires, and I was set 🙂

I've never done it on a camry, but it typically goes like this: Buy CD player. Buy $20 adapter kit. Plug factory wiring harness into adapter, plug adapter into stereo. Plug antenna into stereo. slide stereo into adapter in dash, tighten 4 screws.

That's pretty typical.

not hard at all..

Time consuming if you don't know how to take apart your cars dash.. thats about it.

While were on this subject.. Do they have a manual for all cars for car audio installers?

If so how do I get my hands on one?

Dang, you guys make it sound so simple that I'm very tempted to buy a single DIN deck just to make more room for stuff in my car, which has a double DIN deck.

Ah darn.

Also, could someone recommend me a cheap cd player that I could get for around $40 on ebay? 😀

Hm..Do i hafta remove the stock cassette/radio? 🙁

Yes, you do unless you want to install a CD changer and an RF modulator. Crutchfield.com has pretty reasonable prices, and you can get your wiring harness, dash kit, and installation instructions for your car when you order. Their prices are competitive, but you won't find anything good for $40. You can get a decent Pioneer unit for like $130 w/ everything you need to install it. Better units go up in price, of course.

Do I detect sarcasm?
😉

It's fairly straight forward but not all decks fit in all cars. At least not without an adapter kit. Go to Crutchfield, enter your vehicle info and see what fits.

I do believe (don't quote me, check website) that Crutchfield includes the harness and instructions (for your car model)with every stereo they sell.

Nope... I seriously mean it!! I was looking for a place to eventually add a spot for an electronic boost controller, plus I've been wanting a CD/MP3 head unit for a while. Pretty much any single DIN will work in my car even though mine is double... the extra space would be welcome. Mmmm... booooost.
