You're making a big mistake if you buy the cheapest air filter that will fit in your airbox.
Your two primary filters are the only means of protection your engine has from the wear solid particles cause.
Buying a 2$ air filter for your 20,000$ car doesen't make very much sense.![]()
If you really want to save money, you could always buy a re-usable filter.
Not only are they reusable, but they provide much better efficency(read: more airflow, less particles) than a paper filter.
I was thinking of getting a HEPA air filter for my scooter engine. 0.3 micron filtration, baby.![]()
