I asked for your help on this earlier and this is what I ended up going for on my speaker setup. I tried to make good informed decisions, and hopefully I did. Everything is still in the box so I can make adjustments, but I feel pretty good with the choices so far.

Polk Audio PSW404 10 Inch Powered Subwoofer

Polk Audio CSi25 Center Channel Speaker

Polk Audio RM6751 Satellite speakers

Onkyo TX-SR705 THX Select2 home theater receiver with HDMI switching and conversion Black

this goes along with my Samsung FP-T5084.

Try to keep in mind I'm going from a Bose 3-2-1 system. So what do you all think.

Now I did read the comments regarding Onkyo receivers, but I thought I might try it out and see how it turns out(hopefully good).

What "comments" about the onkyo receivers? All I've read are mostly positive.

I have a similar setup with going polk speakers and Onkyo receiver.

L/R - Polk R50s
Center - Polk CSi25
Sub - Forthecoming
Receiver - Onkyo 605

How much did you pay for the 705? Also, have you tried the csi25 out yet? I haven't hooked mine up.

I think the comments were SlickSnake's along with the issues that some people are having with their X05 onkyos with clicking.

I think you're better off than you were from this thread when you started

How much did you end up spending on all of this stuff as of now?

I know I went way over budget! :) My wife will never let me buy another piece of equipment again.

Well I'm wondering how much you paid for the stuff since you might be able to get better performing products for a similar price (since you indeed seem to have spent more than your original budget and there are some great products out there that you might want to consider since you've already gone into the pricerange that includes them as options)

Well, I spent approximately $1200 overall. I didn't go the refurbished route, so I spent a bit more. I know refurbs can be just as good, if not better, but i decided to bull all new.

Well it looks like the 705 is running about $650 now, so overall I still think you could have better speakers than the ones you have picked out. Unless you have big space limitations, the Polk satellite speakers aren't going to be the highest performing speakers you could get for the price.

I'm not sure how much you auditioned different stuff though. If you did go out and listen to some different options and decided that the Polks were the best sounding of the bunch, then by all means keep them. I just think there are a lot of 5.1 options out there that would actually match for the front three speakers and you'd be able to get more robust speakers for at least the front mains as well.
