Im building a new "value" pc, so I thought that maybe that was the processor that I need...or maybe somebody has another idea?

It's a good processor, but usually not as cost effective as whatever the current Fry's combo deal is.
 
I would just go for a DLT3C ($59) and the TR2-M2 ($14) from SVC if money is an issue. 2300MHz and real cool and quiet, it's a tough combo to beat. I am running four of the Thermaltake TR2-M2 and they cool very well, and are quiet with adjustable speed TMD fans. I have both the 2500+ and the 1700+ cpu's at 2300MHz, I didn't notice a big difference, the 1700+ was a much sweeter deal.
