Is it good or bad that we have twitter? The Daily Wire dropped conservative writer Denise McAllister after she attacked a gay journalist on Twitter.

Bigots should try to remember that while they have every right to be bigots and insult anybody they like, other people have an equal right to make them pay for it. I see this as growing up emotionally entitled, as if shit leaving your mouth only went one way. A soft answer turneth away wrath.

I just hope her husband doesn't beat her for being so mouthy.

Serves her right!
Not mine to call. She might have been a very sheltered and privileged princess who never got through kindergarten ethics and now has to learn rather late. I think I would prefer she grew up late rather than suffer endlessly from immaturity.

@interchange. I wrote the above yesterday but forgot to post it. I find it rationally absurd to hate bigots because they were created from a state of innocence by other bigots purely by chance, It seems that hate creates more hate. And hate is at the root of bigotry. This means according to the laws of mechanical unconscious behavior as I see it, that bigots have two effects. They make more bigots or more people who hate them, unless of course one is rational. I think I can see that hatred of bigots is just bigotry against bigotry, but I think also that I can see much further than I can achieve. This is the Red Beard dilemma I have mentioned before. Did you ever see the film?

Not yet. I looked it up on Wikipedia, though.

As to bigots, we must excise this lesion lest we become Trump supporters. Or worse! Self-aware.

Twitter good or bad? I guess depends on the context.

In this case, I supposed it's both. It's good because it allowed to see someone for what they really are. Bad? Well, it turned out bad for her, unless she was sincere about her convictions...then she's a martyr for the cause.

article said:
“I was fired when I criticized a gay man who mocked my heterosexual relationship,” she tweeted Sunday. “Yet no one defended me when I stood for masculinity and God’s design for sexuality despite outlets saying they represent Judeo-Christian values about sexuality, identity and purpose. What is truth?”

Who else read this quote first, raised an eyebrow and thought, "I think there may be more to this story than she's letting on!"?

Her interpretation of what happened is hilarious. Trump should hire her.

That was extremely mild for an "attack". Then she went from zero to ludicrous speed in half a second.

Another example of the illogical conservative victim complex, where straight white "Christians" simultaneously run everything and are the most oppressed group ever.

Maybe these twitter personalities will eventually get the memo that they're not worth piles of bad PR for their employer. Don't post anything that you wouldn't put on a sign and hang above your desk.

I think you have properly prioritized the sequence we'd pick owing to my belief that the path of self awareness requires becoming conscious of deeply hidden self hate, the last thing we ever want to face. And so sad too because it's all the result of belief in lies.

I don't think Twitter is a bad thing, but I do think people tend to screw up a bit due to the immediacy of it. Heck, I've written posts on this various forum, sat there for a second, and completely erased what I wrote. I'll usually do that because the post feels too aggressive, and in reality, I'd prefer to try to take a more neutral tone... even if the post that I'm responding to doesn't. Although, I always thought that was more or less something that younger individuals fought with as they tend to lack the critical thinking to not take things too emotionally. Along those lines, I remember when I was a lot younger, and I "emotionally quit" a forum (i.e. made sure to post about it) due to a debacle. It's that sort of thing that you'd expect a 13-year old to do (as everything is a big deal to you at that age) and not a grown person.

Now, I think my blathering ties into this example of a Twitter snafu, but I think it's also safe to add that some people seem to assume that others are malicious in their actions. For example, you could assume that the lady thought that the guy's remark was some blatant attack on her home life. Well, to be honest, it probably was to a degree, but I think it's better to refer to it as "pointing out the absurdity". Her problem isn't that she disagreed with him, but rather that instead of arguing against him, she took to repeated ad hominem attacks.

In short, if you feel like you're writing some angry tweet, before you hit that post button, relax for a second... or just outright hit the cancel button and put your damn phone down.

I think there is a pretty common rule that should not only govern anyone's employment, especially if public, but also just daily life:

"Don't be stupid."

It seems that this has been largely ignored by a lot of people n Social media.
