Yes, you'll be fine. It will display everything at 720p, which is HD.

Well my tv only supports 1080i (480p and 480i), but from my experience viewing different tv's and different resolutions....

720p seems to be better for fast motion scenes, it looks smoother.
1080i seems to be a tad bit sharper, but not as great for fast motion.

The difference was subtle though IMO.

Nothing.

Think of it as watching a DVD or HDTV material on a computer monitor......

potentially sharper picture when DTV becomes standard: Link

Question: How many times better is the resolution of DTV compared to analog TV?
Answer: It is felt that most analog television broadcast stations transmit a picture that contains 480 vertical interlaced lines with approximately 340 horizontal pixels per line. Compare this with DTV which is capable of sending pictures which are 1080 vertical interlaced lines with 1920 horizontal pixels per line.

The HD2+ DLP chip in the Toshiba is the best out, currently.

Also, 720P is the native resolution of most slim/flat-panel HDTVs, including most Plasma HDTVs, LCD HDTVs, and DLP HDTVs. There are a few CRT, LCoS, and LCD HDTVs that offer 1080i as a native resolution.

Don't worry -- you are going to be fine. All your 480p/480i material will work fine. Did you know there are a few XBox games that run at 720p? Also I think ONE or TWO that have a 1080i mode???
