Is it good \ better to put my xbox on the DMZ list on my router?

So i was looking through my router settings and it has a list and i can add IP's
I read some where i need to forward some ports to get Xbox Live working so what if i just put the xbox on the DMZ list?

If i put this on the list can it still pull movies\ music\ pictures from my other PC's on the network?
