Is it genocide if .....

a belief in "natural causes" would also entail believing that people are naturally at a specific location for a reason.

if God controls the weather.
and he knows that people are in the affected area.
and he knows that people will die.

It is genocide. But probably for a reason other than just the sake of killing.

I'm not religious persay, but I belive it is a common held belief that God is infalible, thus incapeable of genocide. I think if god did have a hand in it, it would probably be considered retribution or wrath

No. Genocide must be committed by humans, the only beings capable of sin.

Who said anything about sin or that it could only be committed by people? Where did you get that idea? (Just curious)

Main Entry: geno·cide
Pronunciation: 'je-n&-"sId
Function: noun
: the deliberate and systematic destruction of a racial, political, or cultural group

it would be if the natural disaster does exactly that

what's to discuss? i don't understand.

According to Webster.

Main Entry: geno·cide
Pronunciation: 'je-n&-"sId
Function: noun
: the deliberate and systematic destruction of a racial, political, or cultural group
- geno·cid·al /"je-n&-'sI-d&l/ adjective

Aint nothing racial, political or cultural about the disaster.

No. If you believe in God, then you believe the suffering people deserved what they get for one reason or another.

If you're going to believe in God, you have to believe that he's set up everything to just.. work. Plants need water. People need food. Light travels at 299,792,458m/s, etc.

Nature doesen't discriminate. It really has nothing to do with God.

natural disasters don't really count. It's like if galactus came down and slaughtered millions. Since, cosmically, galactus is a force of nature, it isn't genocide, just a tragedy.

Natural disasters aren't genocides. They're random events that can happen to kill a lot of people, but they're still not systematic extermination.
