Yes he did, and he accomplished almost nothing.

Like obama said about hillary, she will say anything and change nothing.

Except that whole American Care Act. Oh, and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. There was also the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. Lets see, he turned around the U.S. auto industry with a $62 billion dollar federal bailout, which I'll admit I was against at the time, but seems to have worked out for us as all three big automakers have added a combined 100,000 jobs since, and are gaining in market share for the first time in several decades. While doing this he also released new fuel efficiency standards that will nearly double the fuel economy for cars and trucks by 2025. Oh, lets not forget that he kicked banks out of the Federal Student Loan Program and expanded Pell Grant spending. He ordered the Department of Education to issue the “gainful employment” regulations that has brought down the predatory only for profit schools like ITT tech and Trump University. With Michelle Obama he passed the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act that mandates that school lunches include more fruits and vegetables and less junk food. He proposed and obtained the Federal Communications Commission approval for a shift of $8 billion in subsidies away from landlines and toward broadband Internet for lower-income rural families.

He did order all U.S. military forces out of Iraq, like he promised he would. He also repealed Don't Ask, Don't Tell, but you might not see that as a good thing (but I, and most of his supporters do). Oh, right, almost forgot while we are talking about the military he ordered the special forces raid that managed to kill Bin Laden. Toppled Moammar Gaddafi with US air strikes and navel blockade which helped defend Libian civilians and rebel troops leading to the end of the dictator's 42 year rule. He signed and ratified the START treaty with Russia that furthers nuclear disarmament. He helped South Sudan Declare Independence by sending two envoys to the area as well as ordering US UN ambassador Susan Rice negotiate their independence and still personally attended the special UN meeting on the issue.

He increased The Department of Veterans Affairs budget by 16 percent. Also signed new GI bill offering $78 billion in tuition assistance, and provided multiple tax credits to encourage businesses to hire veterans. In effort to deter Iran’s nuclear program, signed Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability, and Divestment Act.

He ended Bush's policies that had allowed torture of prisoners. He also released the secret Bush legal rulings supporting the use of these techniques. Just as he promised he would in his campaign. It was a win for both human decency and government transparency. He got the Hate Crimes Prevention Act passed, which expands existing hate crime protections to include crimes based on a victim’s sexual orientation, gender, or disability, in addition to race, color, religion, or national origin. He declared carbon dioxide a pollutant which allowed the EPA to regulate its production.

He extend unemployment insurance and cut payroll taxes, as he promised. He managed to get the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility, and Disclosure Act, passed which prohibits credit card companies from raising rates without advance notification, mandates a grace period on interest rate increases, and strictly limits overdraft and other fees. He also managed to pass the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which gives women the right to sue for discrimination. He got the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act, which boosts the Food and Drug Administration’s budget by $1.4 billion and expands its regulatory responsibilities to include increasing number of food inspections, issuing direct food recalls, and reviewing the current food safety practices of countries importing products into America. He pushed the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act through.

Nominated and obtained confirmation for Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan.

Along with all this, or perhaps because of it, he has managed to improve America's image abroad. Do you remember how badly people though of Americans during the Bush era? That is almost completely reversed. Americans are back to being the good guy for most of the world.

But, yeah, despite all this lets just say he accomplished almost nothing.

wow

Trump addressed overseas tax havens, shillary did not.

Trump addressed free trade, shillary did not. She said we need fair trade, but did not condemn free trade.

shillary refused to accuse china of cyber warfare, but instead blamed russia.

Lets look at what Trump said..

Not paying taxes like everyone else = smart.
Getting sued for discrimination = We settled but never admitted guilt.
6 bankruptcies, stiffing and screwing investors, workers, etc. = Using the laws to my advantage.
Wishing the economy would collapse so he could buy cheap houses working people lost= Just business.

THIS guy says he's the "voice of the working man" and you believe him..

Whatever you are drinking in Texas I don't want any of it.. LOL

Is there some sort of "eat your vegetables" moral character you gain by paying more taxes than you owe? Or hoping the market goes in a direction that will hurt your investments rather than increase them? Yeah, anyone thinking he's a beacon of hope for the working class probably needs to clean their glasses but Hillary sure isn't either. The typical working stiff ain't making tons of money on cattle futures or getting 7 figure loans from former political associates to buy a house so you can run for office in a state you never lived in before.

Apparently not but why are my taxes higher than Trump's then when I'm supposed to be in a lower income tax bracket?

Because you are a responsible adult citizen who pays for what he gets.
Why hasn't trump saved America before? He can solve tax, trade, race, international problems. Just has been too busy up till now. (That is tongue through cheek for the sarcastically deprived amongst us. You never know what will be quoted back at you. )

No idea. Maybe Trump is taking advantage of the solar power subsidies that Democrats love. Or the fossil fuel subsidies that Republicans love. Or who the hell knows what. The tax code is a fvcking joke with all the carve-outs to special interests and pet programs on both sides and if you're making middle class income both parties have made it such that you're the one getting screwed and paying the most in taxes as a percentage of income. That's not by accident and neither of these candidates would do a damn thing to change that.

Yes, amazing how that works when the person I responded to was talking about how his income tax paid was higher than Trump's. With your razor sharp ability to miss the point I can see where you'd start complaining about something completely different. But don't worry, I have zero doubt that Indus didn't pay more in payroll taxes than Trump.

I guess Trump must be awesomely qualified to "address oversea tax havens", seeing that he basically admitted he wrote "FVCK YOU, I AM SMART!" all across his tax returns.

Let me just recap, for those who still don't get it: The guy is manufacturing his shit in China and "Hecho en Mexico", and he has likely not paid ONE.SINGLE.PENNY. in federal taxes. However, he is ranting about the offshoring of work in his "speeches" and complains about overseas tax heavens? SERIOUSLY?? When are you guys waking up?

BBBuuuttt he's smart for doing it, the other guys that do the same are the real bad guys. Since he knows how it works, he's the only one who can fix it.

No, he would be stupid if he didn't navigate the business environment as it is, like your favorite corporations, from apple to google who are frankly much much worse by any standard.

Globalism, no surprise these companies support Hillary.

Hillary talking taxes is pretty funny regardless, she doesn't pay any, her wallstreet minders do that for her.

Context for rental situation in NYC during the 70s, when the city actually managed to lose 10% of its population.

and as he said, he actually owned a non discriminatory country club while the clintons were members of a white only country club.

6 bankrupcies out of what? Hundreds? Funny people still contract work with Trump for decades if he doesn't pay, sorry these lefty attacks simply don't wash. If a contractor breaches contract or if there is a dispute, as often happens, its going to end up in court. Just how it is.

Buying up cheap property in a housing bubble where the predictable was set up to happen by Clinton, is again, just business. Sorry, but if you sell stock in a company because its going down, it doesn't mean you were disloyal because you didn't ride the stock all the way down, business is business, and politicians who set the conditions are the ones who are accountable. If any of you bought property during the crash or even a down market, well, I guess you joined the club.

No surprise what wasn't asked during the debate, things which are currently relevant pushed aside over questions over whether someone called becky fat back in the day.

Now you have no healthcare. So, that sucks for you.

Payroll taxes are in practice paid by the employee given it's taken of their paycheck.

Also, the special interest tax breaks you're talking about are a concession to the free market types. Tax incentives are how we do regulation in this country. Try to think about this to figure it out for a bit, or a while in your case, before replying.

Obama gave us something all right. My health insurance now costs me between two and three times (in deductible and premiums) what it did just five years ago, yet it covers less. Blue Cross Blue Shield-Tennessee just completely pulled out of the Nashville, Memphis, and Knoxville county exchange markets, and for those who remain, the private policy rates jumped 67% in one year. Our small business policy premiums would have increased a like amount for the 2016-2017 year, had we stayed with BCBS-T.

Obama and the Democrats figured out how to move middle class Americans onto the government charity health insurance plan Medicaid for our former middle class health insurance rates and make us damned glad we have even that.
