Is it dumb to buy a GF2 TI now?

i am interested in the Gainwood cardexpert GF2 ti w/ VIVO for 145USD(newegg).
am i stupid to buy an old card for 145 dollars?
i want the VIVO function but not willing to spend 350 on a GF3 vivo or R8500DV.
will the video capture have any skip and retain the tv-quality when i capture a simpsons episodes from fox?

Its not pointless if the card does what you want/need.

If it fulfills what you want, and does nothing more for you than a better card, then of course its worth it, as it saved you money which you can spend on other things, like a big peltier cooler

how is the performance of the GF2 TI (assuming same as the GF2Pro) in video capture though?
i really want to know because i don't want to buy that if i can't capture videos from my TV like a VCR.

Sorry, I dont know about the capturing capabilities of the Ti200.

I DO know that ATi's products are v. good.

The ultimate capturing cards that are in the desktop market are made by Matrox. Then again, Matrox make a point of NOT marketing their cards as gaming cards.

They dont perform badly in 3d apps though.
