Is it crazy for me to go AM2 for this mobo?

I saw this mobo at ncix, and now I'm having second thoughts about going conroe:

I'm on a budget, primarily a student and coder and linux geek. Looking forward to dual-core smoothness and forward compatibility. I play ut2004 occasionally.

Here's why I think it might not be crazy:
**I save money on a graphics card, or delay buying a new one. (I'm satisfied with my mx440 performance currently, not much of a gamer, this will outperform my mx440 right??)
**While the E6300 is is only 20 bucks (CDN) more, I'd need a conroe mobo. I figure I save some $$.

Here's why I may be crazy:
**If that 6100 doesn't work better than my mx440, then i'm crazy.
**No DVI port, I've got a dell 1905fp. (1280x1024 res) Am I crazy not to hook this into a dvi port? WIll it make a huge difference?
**I need a quiet computer badly. I crave silence so much. My current computer must be about 25-30db and it drives me nuts. Will a conroe run much quieter?
**Nvidia 430 is not the latest chipset from NVidia!

Please let me know what you think!

What's the bare minimum price I can expect to pay for a conroe with cheap nvidia graphics? (I would prefer to have an nvidia something for linux support)

I figure this comes to 300 dollars canadian. 263.841 USD

-Why do you think you need 4 PCI slots?
-Chipset is latest with IGP (along with 6150)
-AMD setups can be quiet
-There are other boards with DVI using 6150 chipset but they are mostly mATX with 2 PCI slots. You may or may not see much difference using DVI depending on the circuitry in your monitor. I have an Acer LCD with only analog input and the picture quality is better than my CTX with DVI <- Example.
-I think the 6100 would be better than the MX440

If you really want to save on money, you can get a cheap Sempron and upgrade to dual core later.

About the four slots. 1 for PCI TV tuner, potentially one for better sound card, and potentially a wireless card, if the board doesn't have iee1394 I'd need a card as well. I hate getting USB stuff for some reason. I guess I could settle for 3 slots though.

I figure a sempron'd set me back 60 bucks, so in order to save money, I'd have to wait for a dual core chip to come under 120-130 bucks. And, well, that'd take at least 4-6 months, I guess.

EDIT: Hey, I kinda like the idea of making a SFF PC, maybe I will go for the http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?l1=3&l2=101&l3=0&model=1138&modelmenu=1 .

Thanks!

TV tuner cards exist in PCI-E, and the Asus Conroe boards have optional wireless onboard, though wireless sucks for desktops anyway.
