Is it common for LCD monitors to interfere with wi-fi signals?

Recently I moved my PS3 upstairs (from downstairs), and I switched the TVs upstairs (from one LCD tv/compy monitor to another "pure" LCD compy monitor which looks better). After that, I was unable to make any wireless connections through my PS3. It just would not connect, or even find the signal.

I went through all of the troubleshooting I could think of...but I never thought the monitor itself would do anything (But it was a change...so it was the last option I considered may have caused it).

To test it, I tried connecting to wi-fi with the monitor ON. No good. I then turned off the monitor and ran the test (Because I just had to press x to start it, no complications), and after a minute I turned the monitor back on.

And I had connected perfectly. But as soon as I tried to do ANYTHING online, I was kicked off instantly (so much as just moving in the XMB).

Is this a common problem? Is there any way to fix it? I could always switch back to my old tv, but the monitor is SO much better.

I'm thinking changing the channels could solve the problem, but I can't be sure.

Oh, I also noticed switching from 1080p to 720p actually let me connect again, but it was extremely slow (slow enough that I could barely load anything, so I know it's still a problem).

Anyone think I should change channels? Or is the problem deeper than that?
