Its best to use the native resolution for your LCD, whatever it may be.

Well, it's 2 bigger. That's somthing.

I suppose it depends on about a bazillion other factors, such as what kind of LCD, what's the native resolutions, brightness, etc... but I suppose you can always just ignore that crap and go with BIGGER = TEH B3ST.

After using a 15" at 1400x1050, I think a 19" would just look too big at 1280. Even 17" looks wierd at 1280. All it would do would be to make each pixel look more obvious. If you want a bigger screen, pull your chair up closer. It would have exactly the same effect.

Native resolutions look best on LCD's. If you alter the res in games it will still look "good", but dramatically worse on desktop.

A great 19" LCD is the samsung 191T, I also have the viewsonic vx900 & planar 19".
among the 3, the samsung games much better... using dvi output you will have a great
picture...

the 17" are a little small in my opinion, most 17" do recommend 1280z1024 as do most
19" LCD's... however 19" look so much better do to just a larger screen, use dvi it at
all possible for better graphics and little to no ghosting... i see none on my 191T (black)
and very little on my vx900 - some on the planar... (games i play are unreal, AOE, etc... and
almost everything else - have no favorites really - (as for the gaming/ghosting)).

hope this helps you...

I had a 15inch LCD for a while, and I had to increase font size to 110DPI at the native 1024x768.

Tastes differ.
