Is it better to keep the ram stick size consistant in ram slots 3&4 or does it not really matter?

I'd like to upgrade to 2gigs of RAM, but I'm unsure of what the importance is of my new rams size. I already have the 2 main ram slots with equal sized sticks (2x512). Is there any reason I should go a single 1gig stick over 2x512 or vice versa? I was thinking to do another 2x512 (thus filling my 4 ram slots) in order to keep it all equal. The ram will be identical specs, all I'm questioning is the size(s). My system specs are below. Thanks for your help.

ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe MB
AMD Athlon64 3500+
BFG 6600GT OC Vid Card
2X Muskin 512 RAM 3200
SB Audigy ZS
72gig Raptor
160gig SATA WD HD
DVD-R/RW CD-R/RW NEC

i rem some amd's unable to get 1T because of uneven amount of ram. so 2x512 should sound right. just out of curiosity, why do you need another gig?

I don't think it matters to add 2x1GB or 2x512MB. But I don't think you can add just 1x1GB... and I bet your manual tells you it doesn't support 3 sticks.

Most S939 boards support only 1, 2, or 4 sticks of RAM.
