is it better to have tv out on the video card or a tv tuner card? i ask because the tv out on my video card went out and i need a fix.

I thought most tv tuners don't have tv-out, only RF input, composite input, maybe s-video input, maybe FM antenna input.

Compleeeeeeeetely different stuff that. If you want to see your computer output on the TV screen, you'll need a TV-out on the graphics card. TV cards let you view TV on your computer screen.

Well, that's right... almost. ;)

Professional video input and editing cards such as the Matrox RT X.100 have a video out, but it is only for previewing video edits from within a video editing application in real time. You can't actually watch any old DVD (or MPEG, or PowerPoint slideshow) on it.
