Is it better/safer to change multiplier instead of fsb? what's the difference?

I can run my duron 600 at 1000 by 10x100. But, i wanted to speed up my ram a bit on my kt7raid, so i did. Now i'm running 963, with my ram running at 142 i think. My questions are this.

If i increase my fsb, will it decrease the life on all my other comp parts? ram, video card, etc...

On the kt7-raid, what exactly are the ram specs of normal, high, turbo? do they make any difference?

Thanks for your time.

clocking doesn't generally shorten pc compenent life unless your really pushing the limits... the depreciation of the parts won't show because you'll probably upgrade before they do... however, if possible, changing the multiplier is safer if your chip is unlocked and allows it... this is because your really only clocking your chip and nothing else... so if your chip allows it, thats good... however, there are performance gains to be had with RAM clocking but you just have to do it in small increments and methodically... keep in mind you are clocking PCI and AGP and a lot of other components while doing it... go in small increments, then when you lock up or see instabilities, pull the FSB back a few and you should have an optimized system...
