i have an athlon 1100 t bird i got from gateway. I cant overclock, but i am thinking if i reduce my cpu temp like with using chilled air or other extreme method, will i see any benefits like increase in cpu speed. Also it seems that even if i dont get more speed it will be able to handle more of a load, so it might not lock up or anything realting to heat build up. Does any of theis maye sense.
thanks
What kind of HSF do you recommend? I have a golden orb right now also i have a 2 case fans one sucking in(front) and one blowing out(rear) at opposite ends of the case

If you cool down your Athlon ThunderBird, it will be less likely to crash because of the heat. There is no need for extreme methods, just a good performance heatsink will do you good.

As long as your system is stable there's no real need for better cooling. Even if you cool it down to -40 degrees it wont perform any better. So if you don't plan to overclock and your system is stable you're fine. :)

<< Your room won't be so hot >>

He is not underclocking or reducing the voltage. If he uses a new heatsink or extreme cooling method, the heat still goes into his room unless he ducted his computer case to the outside of the building.
