Is it bad to weigh more than you look like you do?

I weigh about 200 (198-202 depending on the day) but people tell me I look like i weigh about 180. I would think it's better to weigh more than it looks like you do since muscle weighs more than fat I would think it just meant I had more muscle mass. Anyone with some background care to weigh in?

Means you got a square face probably. Always look thin. Same here I weigh 245 most people think 200.

It's cause they're being nice.

Whenever someone asks me, I know the real answer, but say 20 pounds less or so so they feel better.

It's just a frame and density thing usually. In high school I was at 5'8" - 5'10" with a 28" waist but was over 200lbs. Most kids my height were coming in at 150-180, even the muscular jocks.

Up until my mid twenties whenever I'd give my weight I'd get the look that said, "yeah right". In fact when renewing my license once they refused to believe I weighed 210-220 when I told them, and made me weigh myself on a scale they had in the back...I was actually 226 it said.

I wouldn't worry about it at all.

I'm between 185-190 right now but most people say I look like I weigh 160-170 (and no, they're not just being nice)

I weighed 170 from high school up until the age of 22. At 22, my metabolism went WAY downhill. At the moment, I weight 200 and my face filled out some.

i'm 230 and most people still guess me at less than 180.

so, either people are insulting me or they really don't think i look 230.

but i do hide my weight well, no question.

Nah, I'm totally out of shape now, and it shows plainly. I've discovered that age 33 is not age 18. 8-(

I think people would guess I'm lighter than I am. And I'm already pretty light. I don't mean fit I mean geeky and skinny. I'm 14, 5'6", and 125 lbs. I think I look like i'm about 110 lbs.

I think the opposite would be worse if you really care. It?s not like me and my friends stand around like woman saying ?oh your looking good today what do you weigh now 160?? Most people think I weigh 190 until I unzip my pants. - then it's like you must be atleast 220

Was just thinking this same thought the other day when I got on the scale at the doctor's office. I chuckled as the nurse started with 180 and had to keep sliding til she hit 205. She couldn't believe it (I'm 5'11 1/2).

I do need to drop 10-15 lbs though. I was 190 when I got married and most people thought I weighed 170, tops.

Personally, I think it's a mixture of having more (muscle) weight on my lower body than average, and even distribution of the bad lbs on my torso. If I had a pot belly, everyone would guess my weight correctly.

People say I look like I weigh 170-180 but I weigh around 195-200. I don't think it is a big deal. I wish I weighed 170-180 though because my leg injuries hurts with the extra weight when it gets cold.

**EDIT**
Carbo, the only one offended here is you. Just because some of us are in good physical shape doesn't give you the right to be a dick.

Depends. I look lighter than I actually am, but I added a lot of muscle mass over the last year.
