ever since I got braces, it's been hard to brush my teeth without swallowing some toothpaste in the process. it's sorta hard to explain, so I won't try.

anyway, is there any sort of health risk associated with ingesting a small amount of toothpaste everyday?

Are you dead yet? If not, the logical conclusion is that it isn't that bad for you. Just don't eat the stuff like pudding and you'll be alright.

When you were taught to brush your teeth many, many years ago; did they mention the "rinse" phase of the process?

AFter you finish doing the scrubby-scrub with the brush brush, you do the rinsy-rinse with Mr. Water. And you're supposed to SPIT OUT the water.

Sheesh. What's next? "How do I stop dribbling urine into my pants after I'm done peeing?"

Uhh.. That's some bad logic. :p

If you eat 50mg of (toxin) once, nothing will happen. If you eat 50mg of (toxin) every day, nothing might happen.. for a month, or a year...

Fluoride is poison. Do not eat fluoridated toothpaste if at all possible. You ingest plenty through water sources. There is quite a bit of fluoride in toothpaste compared to fluoridated water.

Indeed.

But when used properly(ie: not eating it..), the benefits far outweigh the potential hazards.

Enamel is crystalline in structure. Your saliva contains all the necessary ingredients to build & repair tooth enamel. It was found that fluoride greatly speeds up this process, hence it's "cavity prevention" properties.

Hey. I am a dentist. U will get fluorosis if u swallow too much fluoride. Fluoride toothpaste is to brush your teeth and rinse it. U only need a pea sized amount on the brush.

Yes it is bad. Especially the type with antibiotics in it! That type is really bad. I think colgate uses that type mostly.

Try using a natural toothpaste, like Toms of Maine. Or just dont be a dumbass and stop swallowing it.

Triclosan: It can kill you.

Shake to the left and right rather than up and down? Or get it everywhere and do the propeller thing with your penis by jumping up and down.
