Is it bad to remove the fan on your video card? (rad 8500)

I've got a Radeon 8500, and I rarely play games anymore (not enough time). Recently, the fan started making all sorts of ugly noises - so right now, I'm running my system with the fan off. Should I worry about doing this, or should I be fine?

Yeah, the case has good circulation. It's an Antec 1040 -- one fan blowing in, one blowing out (PanaFlo 80mm).

Well it'd be better with something to cool it, but I guess you'd be ok. In the short term you shouldn't really have any problems, except maybe a little less stabilty, but if you don't really play games or do anything else graphically intensive should be ok. Guess it could shorten the life of the card a bit too.
