Is it bad to put an ATA 66 and ATA 100 HD on same cable?

I have an ATA 66 and an ATA 100 hard drive that I currently have on an ATA 100 IDE cable. Are there any issues with that? I was just worried that the ATA 100 would have to go down to ATA 66 speed because of the other hard drive being on the same cable. Thanks.

No. It will not be a problem. Modern IDE controllers support independent device timings, as long as you use the proper 80 wire IDE cables (with black, blue, and grey connectors). Eadh drive will read at its maximum speed. Incidentally, neither drive will saturate ATA66s 66MB/s speed, so either way, you are fine.
