is it bad to put a refrigerator sideways?

like when moving it to put in a car/truck.. i have just a small dorm/small room type mini fridge and i need to move it to another place... i heard that it's bad to put it sideways instead of rightside up.. is that true?

It?s OK, but the problem is that the lubricating oil that?s sealed inside the compressor, with all the refrigerant, could drain out of the compressor and into the coils. If you must put the fridge in any other position other than vertical, allow at least an hour at room temp after you right it for the oil to drain back down to the compressor.
