is it bad to leave computer in selective startup?

Hi - so I noticed that it took about two minutes to finish loading windows after logging in. I ended up removing a bunch of spyware, but that didn't completely solve the problem. I then went into msconfig and found a number of programs that didn't need to be starting up with windows, so I disabled them. Upon the next reboot - it mentioned that I was in selective startup, and that I could check a box so that it would quit reminding me of this. Naturally I checked the box - but it got me thinking... Is there anything bad about running in selective startup? I mean some of the things it was doing were just silly... I mean hell - one of the commands it would run was literally just "C:/windows/system32/" - so it would just pop up a windows explorer box with "these files are hidden" in big white letters. Thanks for your advice!

I'm using selective startup as well and everything is checked anyway... it's the same as "normal startup" - load all drivers/services.

Clear out whatever you don't want in the msconfig startup tab and you should be good.
