I'm kicking myself for waiting last minute but it just occurred to me my passport expires tomorrow. I had gotten the renewal form and just kept procrastinating. I HATE paperwork of this nature, just so tedious. I'm filling it out now, and unfortunately one section asks for 2 references that can't be relatives. I'm not going to start calling coworkers or other people at 3am asking them to be a reference, and I don't work tomorrow so I wont be seeing anyone I know that's not a relative. What kind of questions do they ask when they call, and how official is it, like is it some condescending intelligence agency person(s) that requires a couple hours of their time, or is it a quick 2 minute call? Or do they even contact them at all? Wondering if I can just say "F it" and put anyone. Just don't want this to backfire. I want to go bring this to the passport office first thing tomorrow morning and pray they accept it so wont have time to call anyone to ask. I want to have it filled out now so it's ready to go. Am I safe to just put anyone?
I'd rather get a root canal without freezing than to do the long form again. I don't have plans to travel outside of Canada but still rather be prepared just in case that changes, like winning a trip or something.
