Is it bad manners to make a thread and then get bored of it and not return?

Depends. If you launch a rant, I feel no need for you to keep responding.

If you ask for help or a question and you never respond to people requesting more information or to say thanks, I think that's rude.

Depends on the nature of the thread.

If it's just a heads up on something, then I don't see why you have to return and make comments. But yeah, if it's a rant, question or what not, then yes you should comment

99% of the time if someone else's thread gets beyond 50 posts, I'll never return. However I always return to my own threads. I guess I just don't make a thread that will get me bored.

The fish you split,
With words of wit,
Is changed into a Limerick!

I think it is, that's why about once a week I do a search for my username and find all the threads I posted in to see if anyone replied to me or asked questions, etc.

I agree. You are just taking up HDD space if you don't actively participate in your own threads. I like my threads.

i dont think its unreasonable to check it for at least a few days...i mean would u start a conversation on the phone and leave in the middle of it cuz u got bored. With out telling them ur not paying attention, no longer interested then just leave the phone on the table without hanging up while they keep yappign away?

We need closure man! lol :p

Man thst just not cool, to not even check THIS thread. I feel used.
There should be a punishment for absentee non checking thread starters.

It's been well over 10 minutes...who's gonna give you your 5 bucks?

I dunno, but someone had better do it. PM me for my mailing address...

YGPM

I hope you like "Poop Dollars" Placer14 :D

Ha, I wouldn't know.

BTW, ANY, watch your mailbox. I already have your mailing address. Your "money" is on its way. Also, stay away from next door neighbors for a while. And if they come up to you asking about an incinerated brown paper bag, deny everything.

There comes a time when the horse has been thoroughly "whipped". People come late in the game, only to rehash the rehash.
