I wouldn't call myself very muscular. I was always the skinny kid, I was never a meat head (I was only 135 lbs when I graduated HS)

That is same as Asians observing Americans are rude with opening their mouths before careful thinking or picking up a spoon before elders at a dinner table. (It's polite to wait until the oldest start eating first.)

It is simply a culture crash.

If Stefan was an Asian in Asia and saw foreign Americans behaved their ways, you would immediately label them as being rude as well. Only the wise may recognize that it is the difference of culture and no offense was intended by either culture.

I'm being closed minded by asking a question?

You're being closed minded by assuming that foreign people can easily assimilate to your cultural norms. You're closed minded cuz you don't realize that they might have the same values as you in their home country. You're being closed minded cuz you're expecting them to hold the same values as you, and if they don't they are "rude". How are they suppose to know that it might not be courteous if don't say thank you.

That's the dumbest sh!t I've ever heard.

If he was close minded, this thread would not exist, and he'd already be at a decision.

I'm an ABC, so you FOBs can bash me. I go to Taiwan almost every year and duh it's a mess. Look at their driving. There's no such thing as courtesy. It's cutting everyone off, no such thing as right of way, splitting 2 lanes into 4, etc. They run reds because unprotected lefts are impossible to make so once it turns red they force their way through because they never got a chance when green. They block intersections, etc etc. Pedestrians have no right of way, cars just kick ur ass, etc.

I got into a fight in Taiwan because my mom and I got pushed and then later someone pushed my mom and made her fall. I just said WTF (not even at the guy) and he started laughing at me with his stupid Chinese insults that I obviously understood. I yelled a quick F-you at him followed by Cantonese swear words (no I'm not Canto), and bam it was a 5 on 1. I only got to knock 1 guy really good before I bailed.

Honestly, I think people have no courtesy in Asia. They smoke in your face, they talk on their cell phones so loud, not respecting the public.

You know, it's just culture. I wish everyone there could be polite. I'm still afraid to drive there today even though I breeze through traffic in SF or whatever here. I wish they could adopt a more friendly and courteous attitude.

My fobby friends are rascists sometimes and they go "omg stupid white ppl" and talk crap about white people to me in Chinese. I don't agree and I have yet to confront them about that but while I do run into "stupid white people" sometimes, I honestly think there are a lot more white people that have made me smile and say to myself "damn he's a really nice guy" than there have been asians who made me say that. I mean I won't be expecting an Asian guy to look at my shirt and speak up and say "hey what does that mean on your shirt?" as this one white gentleman did at Wendy's last week when I had a shirt poking fun of Stanfurd.

There's truth in that, I agree. But same can be said for any culture. Remember, dumbasses are colorless. Go to your local street and you'll find yourself a handful of ignorant american morons. You can even find our resident dumbass of ATOT right here in this very thread, ask 91TTZ ;)

It's sad to see that you just can't let it go. I saw your original post before you edited it, but I guess you still had too much anger left over to avoid taking another cheap shot.

I bet you were the kind of feeble kid who got picked on by more masculine guys. Angered and frustrated that you were physically dominated, you enacted "revenge" by drawing angry pictures and mutilating insects.

Your insecurity is pitiful.

I don't know if anybody mentioned this...

Most of the Asian international students are from a big city. I, for an example, is from a city that has population of 14 million. Bumping into people is a common thing that people don't even care if one says sorry or not. Holding door is something I'd never do. I learned that holding door thing when I studied in the states, and did it when I went back to my city. And, there I was holding a door at a department store for more than 5 minutes because I couldn't find my chance to let it go.

Just think how most of well mannered Americans would act if 14 million of them are packed into 605 km2 of land.

My office mate (South Korean, maybe 40 years old) eats with his mouth open and "smacks" his food when he eats. I have no idea how he does it. Maybe he just has a lot more saliva. He also ends each loud sip of his coffee/tea with a big "AHHHH!" It drives me nuts. I wear earbuds and listen to music to block it out in the mornings.

When in Taiwan no one says "bless you" or anything when someone sneezes. It took me a while to get use to it.

I like touching Asian girls.

I don't just hide behind a monitor. I actually posted a picture of myself. Let's see what you look like to see how you measure up.

I find it amazing how in one reply you claim that I'm a wimp hiding behind a monitor, yet in another reply I'm a steroid-ridden meathead. Which one is it? Am I too big or too small? You can't have it both ways.

Post a picture of yourself. I guarantee that you're the one that's closer to being the skinny wimp hiding behind a monitor. The difference between you and I is that I can back it up.

I am arguing with a child. Your personality is comprised of too much emotion, too little thought. You are a kid, not a man. Your grammar and reasoning ability are hideous. You laugh at things which you don't understand. You thought my sig was funny because you didn't see how your poor grammar undermined the meaning of your reply, "You're even more stupider than I thought."

This is a very valid point, since most New Yorkers are quite rude compared to people from Searcy, AR, for example, while at the same time most New Yorkers are more open minded compared to most people from Searcy.

Some cities are just well-known for being rude. New York is the prime example. I live between Philadelphia and New York and I can see the difference in attitude like night and day. The New York area (not just the proper city, but even the surrounding towns) is just downright rude and nasty. The people are impatient and rude. People in the city cannot see it since they live there everyday. People in North Jersey are very strung out compared to the people in South Jersey

I've traveled to many cities in the country and the attitude varies quite a bit. San Francisco probably has the nicest people that I've seen. People were laid back and friendly. Atlanta was also very nice. But the Northeast in particular seems very fast paced and impatient.

So there are well-mannered cities out there, and their attitude doesn't seem to be due to density. I'd take downtown San Francisco over a suburb in North Jersey any day.

Like lots of other people have said, it's a culture difference.

Many people here in the South think that people from the North are rude. Northerners generally don't say "sir" and "ma'am" (Which would have gotten you a tanned hide 15 years ago when I was in elementary school), they generally don't take their hats off indoors, and they generally don't stand up when women leave the table.

This is, as is your thing about Asians, just a generalization. I've found that where there's any question about it, it's better to assume that people aren't being rude.

I hate stuff like that. I always hold for people and say thanks... just hate how some people don't follow the same common courtesies...

Alright. It's time I end your childish whine and hold your hand back to the sandbox where your minigun is.

Reasoning abilities? You mean just like the way came into this thread and started to troll me when I was minding my own business? You mean like the first time you spewed turd out of your little mouth, throwing random insults at people making serious posts?

You're an "attention whore". It's annoying having everyone competing to be the alpha in the group. They're just annoying.

In these two instances, evidently where you started your menstration cycle and decided on piss on my feet, who the fvck was talking to you? You have the audacity to call ME a child with your asinine assumptions? What is this, you like to start random sh|t with people by unnecessarily calling them childish names? This is not your playground where you can lash out your adolescent grudg'e by regurgitating the very insults you grew up hearing with.

You are the reason why moderators has to treat this forum like a petting zoo.

I'll tell you what is wrong with you, Mr. self-acclaimed-Introverted-Intuitive-Thinking Judging troll. You are an introverted bastard that open mouth intiuitively without thinking. It is like you stopped growing past junior high school, as it is apparent with your canned, cookie-cutter 'holier than thou' posts. You are like a little puppy who keeps sh*ting on the carpet as that is probably is the limit of your 'Thinking' ability. Best of all, you are a judgemental troll, abruptly calling me a mediocre middle-management type. It's a real shame, you make the AOL eleven year olds look like Leo Tolstoi.

At least I'll make it to middle management, because I do not judge and engage in utterly foolish antics by pissing in other people's cereals. IITJ is just a sad excuse for your sorry lonely ass.

Just who is the attention whore here?

You are indeed a judgemental troll. The every second you open your mouth, you prove your stupidity. You assume again that people in these forum are helpless nerds. That is just pure shame and you wonder why people continue to flame you.

Alright, I'll kneel down and indulge in your immature game.

You coward. You don't even have the balls to post your face.

You are a shame to real, hard-working IITJs in this forum.
