as long as you don't throw up on the bride afterwards, i don't see a problem why not.

You just want to get her drunk! bastard! you want to see what happens when someone gets drunk.

Well this is what happened the last time my buddy and I got some girls drunk. they passed out. started throwing up all over the place. and two peed on themselves! hahahah, then we had to get them cleaned up! not a fun thing to do when you're also drunk. so in this case, no i don't think it is right. unless you got your buddie's approval, i would say no.

It is not appropriate to get sh!tfaced, unless it is your brothers wedding or something like that, which this isn't the case here. It is ok to be a little sloppy though.
ie. minimal slurred speech, no falling off the bar stools, chairs etc.,
Also, it depends on the couples wishes. I went to this wedding where the guy's dad didn't even know his son drank. There was liquor and beer there but we were instructed by the groom to take it "very easy."
So it depends on different factors, but definately do not fall off of a chair, it is not your special day and therefore it is not up to you to stain it for the two people who's day it is.
(I know not you, just speaking in the second person because it works well here)

Hell yes, it's ok to get wasted at a wedding. At least I hope it is. I would hate to think I've broken an unwritten social rule a dozen or so times.

I think it really depends on how much you care about what the people at the wedding think of you. If you don't care, then by all means get hammered. Personally, at a relatives wedding I would never. At a friends wedding, where the only people I would know would be my friends, who see me hammered other times anyway, I wouldn't have any qualms getting sloppy.

When else can you take advantage of an open bar? I don't know of any other occasion (well, bachelor party maybe...)
