Is it any software to move laptop hdd image to desktop hdd?

I Have a software which installed on my laptop but cannot install on my desktop. Is there any software allows me to copy my labtop hdd image to my desktop so that i can use the software on my desktop?

You could try with things like ghost, but the hardware will probably be too different.
