Is it alright to run Abit IS7 without the working Northbridge fan?

Hi, recently my northbridge fan started to make an incredible amount of noise which became simply unbearable. I unplugged the power connector to that particular fan and am waiting for the Zalman NB47J replacement sometime next week. I am wondering if I can possibly harm my motherboard or fry the northbridge? I downclocked the overclocked 2.6ghz @3.2 back to stock speeds and lowered the voltage to 1.500 from 1.65 and disabled all intensive programs like SETI or any type of videogaming for the time being in order to isolate the load on the system. I have an intake fan which still helps to draw some air in, so do you guys think I will be fine having the system running for the time being without a working Northbridge fan? Should I try to refrain from any type of heavy system load until the replacement arrives?

Just trying to overly cautious since I do not want to spend extra $$$ on replacement parts.
