Is it a problem to put non-magnetically shielded speakers right next to an LCD monitor hooked up with DVI?

Will an LCD hooked up with a DVI connection suffer from distortion problems when next to non-shielded speakers like a traditional analog CRT will?

No you will be fine. LCDs dont use magnetics.
