Is it a good idea to get an independant apprasial on a diamond ring?

yeah i think so. FI bought my ring and it is appraised for more than when he purchased it. if you have a local jeweler, they can usually give you a pretty reasonable price for an appraisal

Well i just bought the ring from an out of state jeweler, i just didnt know if its a good idea to get it independantly appraised...

I can get your ring appraised for whatever you want it appraised at. Higher appraisals mean higher insurance premiums but more money if it gets stolen.
