Is it a bad thing if fast food makes me tired

I eat fast food monthly, in which everytime I do get fast food.. So today, I got fast food from Arbys... After eating all the food and letting it digest, I'm freaking tired... So I try to play some Stepmania, and I couldn't pass the songs that I usually could pass from lack of energy...

Is this a good or bad thing?
and does this happen to you?

It's a bad thing, but it happens to everyone. Fast food barely qualifies as food, there isn't much organic material present.

Have you ever watched Supersize Me? The guy notices his energy levels drastically decreasing when he ate only McDonalds. I don't know the science behind it.

yep i get tired tooo.. i hate eating at fast food anymore... even out in general b/c their food is nasty

You know, I normally don't care about what I eat, but the other day I was eating some Puritan Meatballs & Gravy and my imagination wandered. All I could picture were these huge vats full of disgusting, synthetic-hormone filled animal fat, and to make the gravy they just opened the tap a little, added some salt and voila. Then I figured that's gotta be the main ingredient in many sausages and burgers too. Anyway, screw Puritan, I'm moving up to Chef-Boyardee.

The funniest thing bout that movie is when he was maybe 10 days into the "program", he gets really sad/down/depressed if he's not eating McDs. Then right when he begins munching a burger, he's all happy go lucky and he even says "oh man, i'm feeling good now....munch munch munch" haha. He was addicted to McD's! haha.

Man, eat Tim Hortons. O wait, u dont have Tim Hortons! Do a boarder run to Tim Hortons, and buy a BLT, or a Turkey Bacon Club. Also buy a coffee.

What did you eat? MSG makes me tired and makes my nose itch, so I avoid it whenever possible.

Same thing happens to me. Its just the heavier, lower quality food.

Plus, if your anywhere at Heavy in Stepmania, a minor change in energy can really screw you up. If I'm tired, I'll lose all my energy about halfway through any hard songs (CH, PS, LoM)

The quality of fast food is pretty good actually, the preparation of it is horrible though. So much stuff is fried in fats. You eat a fast food meal and you're looking at 700-2000 calories after burger, fries, coke, onion rings, apple pies, hot fudge sundays, shakes, supersizes, etc. And you eat it all in 5-15 minutes usually. This stuff is all goin in to digestive tract. Well your body basically puts blood supply priority to your digestive system, so other places like your skeletal muscles get less blood. It's a good reason you shoudn't excersize after eating a heavy meal, basically why your mommy told you to not swim for an hour after eating. So naturally your parasympathetic system kicks and your sympathetic (aka adrenaline/fight/flight stuff) is toned down. So you are going to hit that food coma. I'm sure when you are not eating fast food you are eating much less fat and less calories at a time so this isn't as pronounced.
