Is it a bad idea to store videos on a different server and stream them to another?

Ok I have a video site for videos I make. I am about 50% full of space. I saw this deal on NetFirms where for $10 you get a year of hosting. I know Netfirms isn't the best host but I thought maybe I could just store my videos on that host. And then on my current site just stream them to the other server. Would this be a bad idea? I dont want to spend more on my current host. I just thought this would be a good alternative.
