Is it a bad idea to have one B access point and G access point in same location?

I've read about mixed mode (B and G) situations degrading the performance of 802.11g access points. But is it OK to run 2 different Access Points -- one for B and one for G?

I would assume that if you set both access points on different channels, that they would be able to coexist without ever seeing each other.

Then when your clients connect, you need to make sure the B clients only connect to the B access point, since they will be able to connect to both.

yeah, i would make sure that on the G access point, i make it G only and not mixed mode.
