I think not supporting israel will probably be the new thing. Israeli support here sadly seems to be dwindling.

I have ZERO clue to why Israel is such a big deal to us. I think it must be religion, jesus birthplace or a Zionist plot.

My Prime Minister is in Israel right now and promised support. An attack on Israel is an attack on Canada. And I'm left thinking WHY? F them.

Canada has always try to support the right to self determination, peace, and democracy.

Hence, Canada support the existent of the Jewish state, and also oppose the invasion, suppression, and theft of the Palestinian identity and property.

And, I hope the the media portray Harper and Baird in bad light to sell more papers, because they should also mention the treatment and killing of Palestinian to make it fair for both side.

Our blank check support to Israel started around Reagan's time in office. Once the evangelicals started taking over southern politics with their whole biblical prophecy nonsense Israel has had easy pickings. Nowadays Israel's marketing\propaganda machine is top notch its just about impossible for any US politician to not drop and grab ankles whenever Israel's makes a request.

as for the palestinian\Israel thing...no one is entitled to land. You either fight for it, play nice with everyone to hold on to it or you get the fuck out of the way.

You can only hold a population under siege for so long. You have to expect them to fight back.

Do I feel bad for either Israel or Palestinians? No.
Do I support Israel's right to defend it self? Yes
Do I support Israel's right to do handle territories it has won in previous wars? Yes
Do I support Palestinians using whatever means to try and get their land back...yes. Asymmetric warfare is perfectly acceptable under the circumstances.

Israel doesn't want peace with whats left of the Palestinians. Its not in "their" interest. Peace with the Palestinians would result in outcomes that the far right assholes cant stomach.
Palestinians are so mindfucked after decades of being screwed with by Israeli's they don't know what they want. There are so many factions running around that no one has control. those that do have a little bit of control are constantly screwed with by both Israel and all the little factions.

I wish the US would get Israel off the welfare list. Let them sink or swim on their own merit. the existing relationship has already proven detrimental to US interests. we need to structure the relationship between US and Israel in away that benefits the US.

We need to structure it so I stop getting all this IDF bullshit in my Facebook feed

God may or may not have intended for some people to be expendable
We don't know what God intended for we dont even know who God is.
collectivism is not precision (so collectivism must lead most people to inaccuracy)
govts can't be individualistic
govt agents work collectively
govt agents can't pinpoint well
the State comes to its goals on accident
we can't and won't collectively know how the expendable should be dealt with
people looking at people as pro-Israel or pro-Persia
the fact that it's not as simple as people are either Jew/scotsman/noric/Ancient Basque/French Basque/Modern Basque/Far North African and White European/neanderthal or persian/serbian/arab/australoid/capoid/congoloid/cro-magnon/denisovan/erectus. some people may be exclusively persian by blood or exclusively jewish by blood, but even that's not the ultimate picture and if people need govt to help them out then too much waste is being recycled without using pure democracy.

We've given them all the support they need. This latest action is merely their attempt to pull the worst of the weeds which just has to be done periodically. Before Opec or anyone else gets it together to respond they'll be done. People just don't get it, these are not enormous countries with huge populations, it's a bunch of third world hillbillies doing their version of the Hatfield's and the McCoys.
